YOUTH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Because of donor support, 5 Gyres is able to spread the word about toxic plastic pollution.

High School Educational Webinars
In 2014, 5 Gyres held its first online Educational Webinar with more than 1,500 students from 50 schools around the country In 2015, with your support, we will expand this successful program to include two large-scale Educational Webinars.

Global Youth Summit
In June, 5 Gyres and the Island School at the Cape Eleuthera Institute will host a 3-day youth summit, empowering youth with communication and leadership skills to affect change in their communities.

The Plastic Beach Project
We work with students and volunteers to analyze microplastics on beaches.

The iTrawl Program
This citizen science program allows sailors, adventurers and educators to borrow our equipment to expand reach. All of our citizen science is incorporated into our efforts to estimate global levels of marine plastic pollution annually.
